Xi Jinping Leaves Beijing for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2026 and a State Visit to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt

On the morning of August 30, 2026, President Xi Jinping left Beijing by special plane to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2026 in Bishkek, and pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt upon the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt.

Xi Jinping’s entourage includes Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping; Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; and Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
